Howdy! Welcome to the latest blog. I hope you’re all well and enjoying autumnal vibes. I’ve just got back from a sunny holiday, so the cooler weather is a bit of a shock to my system! That said, despite the fact that hot showers now somehow feel cold, I’m absolutely loving the return to blanket snugs with my cats on the sofa in an evening 😊
So – let’s get into it!
What have I been up to?
In my last blog, I advised I was running a giveaway on Instagram. I’m delighted to say that the Fyn Carter book bundles have been shipped to the libraries (mostly school libraries), and I’ve started to receive comments from teachers who have read the book, enjoyed it, and have shared it with the students! This makes me so happy. Honestly, when doing the work behind the scenes, sometimes I forget that people will get to read the stories! When writing them, that’s always the goal, but it can be a surprise when I realise it’s happening!
I spent a lot of September trying to focus on wrapping up the first draft of Fyn Carter 2. It took a little longer than anticipated (because I wrote myself into a plot hole – oops!). Thankfully, I got that sorted without too much difficulty (phew!).
Forthcoming events
As per my events page, I’m really excited that I’ll be returning to MCM Comic Con (London) in October and will also be at London Comic Con Winter in November! MCM is bound to be a whole vibe in itself because it happens right before Halloween, but I also loved being part of the Writers Block area there back in May. LCCW in November includes YALC (Young Adult Literature Convention) so will also be full of readers! If you’re at either of those events (or any of the others I’ll be at), feel free to say hello!
Next year
Over the last few weeks, I’ve booked in to exhibit at many events during 2025. It’s exciting to think ahead in this way, and also nice that by having things planned now, I free up a bit of brain space next year. What was especially exciting was trying to consider how the events work around the timings for any book release(s)…
I’ll update the events page for 2025 towards the end of this year.

I know I’ve said before how helpful reviews are, but now that ‘Fyn Carter and the Agents of Eromlos’ is available in more places online (including Waterstones, Barnes & Noble, and Foyles etc.) as well as Amazon, if you’re happy to leave your reviews in those places, that would also be very helpful 🙂
Fyn Carter 2!
This bit is a little eeky for me. Fyn Carter 2 is currently on track for release in Spring 2025! Also, I may as well give you an exclusive! Fyn Carter 2 is titled: ‘Fyn Carter and the Legends from Atlantis’! I am very excited about the title and the story, and I am really looking forward to sharing it with you. I just have to work, work, and work some more to get it done!
