Hello there!

I hope you are well, enjoying good weather, and finding lots of happy times.

It’s exciting times here! ‘Fyn Carter and the Legends from Atlantis’ was released on 8th May 2025 – almost one year after ‘Fyn Carter and the Agents of Eromlos’ was released on 9th May 2024.

I will say right away – thank you to everyone who has picked up a copy! It means a lot. It really helps – especially as I am an indie author. I hope you enjoy the continuation of Fyn’s adventures!

There are some good updates to come. Are you sitting comfortably? Here we go!

Fyn Carter and the Legends from Atlantis – Book Launch!

On the evening of Thursday 8th May, the eco-friendly Happy Bean Coffee Bar in Southampton hosted the official book launch for ‘Fyn Carter and the Legends from Atlantis’. It was a lovely time. I was feeling a range of emotions throughout the day – the build up to launch was extremely busy and tiring. Mostly, I was excited, but by the time it got to the evening I was overtired and pretty much exhausted. Thankfully, being surrounded by lovely people who were excited to celebrate with me wiped the tiredness away. It really perked me up and we had a great time!

Attendees got exclusive goodie bags (which included a postcard, bookmarks, stickers, sweets, and a fox eraser). There were also vegan and gluten free cupcakes from One Planet Bakery (lemon sponge topped with orange flavour frosting and Fyn 2 rice paper). I happened to put some Henry Flame badges on the table just in case, and they sold out super-fast. Thank you, Henry Flame lovers!

I think my tiredness helped to negate my nerves as I managed to do a little speech and reading without shaking in the same way that I did at the last launch. It may also have helped that I have been doing this for a year now, and I’m starting to accept that I am an author (eek!).

The night before launch my nerves really kicked in as I worried what people would think of the book. When it got to just gone midnight and the book was officially released, I realised there was nothing I could do about it at that stage. The book was out there. It reminded me of the time I went skydiving. I am not a lover of heights (although I do challenge myself), but when I found myself falling from the plane, the nerves disappeared. There was nothing I could do but go with it. I found it refreshing to simply enjoy the moment and not worry. When Fyn 2 was released, part of me let go and went with it! It’s so easy to overanalyse everything. It’s important to enjoy things too.

The Book Blog Tour!

A book blog tour is when a group of bloggers agree to post their blogs about a specific subject to a set schedule. I am very thankful that the lovely book bloggers who completed a book blog tour for ‘Fyn Carter and the Agents of Eromlos’ were happy to take part in a tour for the sequel. Along the way, I did a guest blog on my writing process and a Q&A. You can read the reviews/blogs etc. via the following links:

Mary at Book Craic

Helen at SarahReads (includes ‘My Writing Process’ Guest Blog)

Veronica at (Note – there are BIG spoilers here so only look if you are happy to) V’s View from the Bookshelves

Live Chat on BlueSky

Tonight at 8-9pm BST on Tuesday 20th May, I am going to be chatting with the lovely Emma Finlayson-Palmer about all things Fyn Carter and my writing process. You can follow along live on BlueSky and join in the chat. Use the hashtag #ukteenchat to keep up 😀

MCM London Comic Con this weekend!

MCM in May last year was definitely one of my favourite events of 2024, so I cannot wait to be back there again (Friday 23rd May to Sunday 25th May). If you are attending, please do come by and say hi, chat books, show off your cosplay, and perhaps pick up a signed book or two. I will have some freebie goodies on the table, and there will be some fun new merch too. Details below:

I will wrap up there. Thank you so much for continuing to share this journey with me. If you have read and enjoyed either of the Fyn Carter books, please remember that reviews really help.

Have a fab rest of the week!
