Hello lovely readers!
In this blog, I was mainly going to focus on a cover reveal for Fyn Carter and the Might of the Masters (aka Fyn Carter 3), but it’s all gone a bit bonkers (in the best of ways)!
So, the cover reveal is to come (further below), but first…
The Shoe Creeper Half Term Treasure Trail!
As mentioned in my last blog, The Shoe Creeper Half Term Treasure Trail begins this Saturday (24th October) and runs throughout October half term!

I’m really pleased to discover this is being embraced by Devon press!
East Devon News have included it in their community news here, and the Midweek Herald have done a full article here and published it in print! This is brilliant news. I’m so thankful.
The Shoe Creeper has also been receiving some wonderful reviews on social media, both for the book and the audiobook. Again, I’m just really thankful. When you write a book, you hope it will be discovered and enjoyed by readers, but you know this could take a long time to happen (if at all). I always have faith in the long-term process, but it’s very encouraging to see people enjoying the story as they are.
The Shoe Creeper is set during the lead up to Halloween, so if you’ve not checked it out, please do 🙂
Live chats!
I will be taking part in a ‘Meet the Author’ interview with WriteMentor at 7 p.m. tomorrow night (Friday 23rd October)! I’m really looking forward to it. The chat is available to members of the WriteMentor hub and will be recorded so people can watch it on catch up.
Then, on Wednesday 28th October at 7 p.m., I will be chatting with The Rebel Reading Society on Instagram live. I’ve never done an Instagram live before, but I’m really looking forward to this as well! Always learning!

In-person events!
Thank you to everyone who has stopped to chat and buy books at recent events. I’ve met some amazing readers and love it. I still have two in-person events booked in for the rest of October. Then I’m generally very busy in November so fewer events then. This is what it’s looking like:
- Saturday 24th October = Halloween Market at the Design Chapel on Southampton Common
- Saturday 31st October = Mynt Image Craft and Gift Fair at Winchester Guildhall
- Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th November = Mynt Image Craft & Gift Fair at Salisbury Guildhall
Children in Read 2026!
Children in Read 2026 has commenced, and I have two listings. Both have bids on them already (thank you), and proceeds are in aid of BBC Children in Need. Listings are here for Fyn Carter and here for The Shoe Creeper.
Fyn Carter and the Might of the Masters!
Here we go!
I’ve been sitting on this for a while, but I’m finally ready to reveal more about Fyn Carter and the Might of the Masters. I’m really excited for this book. I know I say that about them all, but this one really changes things up. You may know that I have six Fyn Carter books planned, so this will bring us to the halfway point. That feels huge!
I’m sharing this on my blog before I officially share it later elsewhere, so this is an exclusive first look for you! Are you ready? Gulp!

Yes – you read that right! It’s coming on 9th March 2027, and it’s available to pre-order here on Kindle right now!
Even more than that, we have a blurb!
On a world far from ours, yet closer than we’d care to imagine, a boy named Fyn Carter has caught the attention of the Malign. Now it’s time for the masters to prove their worth.
With new friendships, new challenges, and new dangers, the third book in the Fyn Carter series will shock and delight!
I hope you’re excited to see where the story is going for Fyn and his loved ones. It might not be where you’d expect!
That’s all for this month 🙂 Thanks for reading, and stay happy.
Ian x
