Hello there, lovely readers!
I hope life is being kind to you and the weather is sweet where you are.
This month I have some exciting updates!
Let’s get started:
The Shoe Creeper has progressed to Round 2 of the Book Bloggers’ Novel of the Year Award (BBNYA)!
On Wednesday 22nd July, BBNYA revealed the stories which have made it to the next round of BBNYA 2026. The Shoe Creeper is one of them! This is fantastic news. The competition is well-regarded globally for Indie authors, and it’s so nice to receive news like this. There were plenty of other stories revealed (so I’m in good company), but let’s keep fingers crossed!
Fyn Carter 2 (Fyn Carter and the Legends from Atlantis) is FREE on Kindle for a limited time!

This is the first time I’ve offered any of my eBooks for free, and I’m unlikely to do it again anytime soon. It would be fantastic to make a success of it, so if you follow my socials, please like and share my related post (coming soon after this update), and if children’s adventure stories are your thing, don’t forget to download a copy of the eBook. Even if you already have a copy of the paperback, downloading the eBook will still help as it will give it a welcome boost up the charts. Visibility and finding readers is a key goal here.
While I’m at it, Fyn Carter 1 (Fyn Carter and the Agents of Eromlos) is also on offer at 99p (UK) and 99c (US)!

Fyn Carter 3 (Fyn Carter and the Might of the Masters) has a cover!
I’ve been working on the front cover for Fyn 3 between tasks for quite a few months. There was a bit of risk involved, because I was using colours which I understand don’t always print well, but I was enjoying the process and wanted to give it a try.
Over the last few weeks I’ve ordered test copies to see how the print came out. The first two attempts didn’t work. I was close to restarting the cover from scratch when I decided to give it one last try. I let my creative instinct take over (which is really what it felt like was happening), and I ordered a new test copy. Thankfully, it came out amazingly! I’m really pleased with it (even if it does feel strange to have a cover ready before I’ve finished the first draft!) 😀
The story itself is coming along nicely. I’m drafting the final story arc now, so it shouldn’t be too long before it’s into editing stage and I can share more.
Events
Randomly, this week I’ve booked in events for Winter 2027 (which shows how far ahead I’m thinking sometimes), but the fact is that exhibitor spaces book out quickly. Events are going to be ramping up now that we’re in the second half of 2026. Coming up in August, we have:
- Saturday 8th August: New Forest Makers Market – Audley Market in Romsey
- Saturday 15th August to Sunday 16th August: Canterbury Gaming Convention
You can see my up-to-date events here.

That’s all for this month. Please do remember to check out the Kindle offers and share if you’re happy to. Thanks again for reading!
Until next time, Luna (one of my furbaby writing mascots) and I wish you the best!
🙂 x
